Re-use JC Racing Wheels?

Post by ck33 »

I cut off my old Goose Bumps, and have a brand new pair of IFMAR Studs to glue on...

Anyone have good tips for re-using JC Racing Wheels? I assume it just involves acetone, razor blades, and hard work. Any other good tricks?

Nope, just acetone, maybe a bit of CA debonder if necessary, good sharp knife. I use a bit of sand paper sometimes too.

Yep ck33 is right.

J.C Racing wheels are nylon so dunk them in a acetone bath overnight and peel off.

I wash & clean the wheels before reglueing them with ne boots & balance up.

In the oven at 200 for 10-15 min works nice too, just push the glue bead off

Tires sucessfully removed and remounted. Thanks for the tips! I went the acetone soak route. Didn't know I could buy 1 qt of acetone for $8 at my local home improvement box mart. No problems with the JC Racing nylon wheels.
