Well, it took me ages! Certainly not perfect, but the best I can do with brushes. I found it really hard cutting the body/holes to mount it, as I didn't want to cock it up! Not the easiest of box art designs to do, as I'm sure anyone else that's attempted will agree.
Anyhoo, here a few pics, sorry not great quality. I haven't fitted the driver yet.

What colors did you use?
Thanks you mate! I just used Parma Fascolor. Standard blue with a bit of white in it, and the yellow has one or two drops of red in it. The yellow was REALLY thin, and you could see the brush strokes when close up, so I ended up backing it with a Tamiya yellow acrylic paint, which did the trick.
Very good job on that. Although I'm not into the box-art replicas, even designing your own paint job for the Optima body is a challenge. It's not easy to trim and has so many intriguing scoops & body lines everywhere, but that's what makes it such an attractive body when it's painted well.

Thanks. Yes you're not wrong, not any easy body at all. I have another Optima chassis that needs a shell, don't think I'll be doing another box art though!!
Well, I've been in decal procurement mode all summer and am just about ready to start my winter project. Still need to figure out what paint/colors I'll use.... I wanted to paint the original body like the box..... But I was thirteen at the time and...

To be blunt, many of his posts are about advertising his YouTube channel. I agree that a YouTube embed in a signature is unnecessary, what with all the posted links to share it.
It doesn´t allways end up as planned - But the colours match!...... Almost.
It´s amazing, I didn´t throw away more than 6-7 hours on this
Next time I´ll outsource it

Blood-eye tough paint job to match from the box art. Seriously, I'd pay $200 to anyone that could perfectly replicate the original box art for me. Even at that I would feel like I was taking advantage of a professional painter.
Tried a search but no luck. Looking for the actual paint colours (or very close alternatives) to paint up an Optima and Turbo Optima, both in box art. I guess what blue and yellow for the Optima (white is easy 8) ) and the red/orange for the Turbo....

Ahh, I remember the POLYCA colors. You can see some of them here. The black, white, red where probably the box art colors.
I am interested in reproducing an exact box art replica of the original Kyosho Optima. However the #5 is different along with a few other decals missing from the production sheet.
Has anyone tried printing out the box art design?

It was this nice fellow. Mugenbulldog.
Cool! Hopefully he can come through with the file. If it's vector based, you can use it to cut paint masks. That would rock!
The Kyosho Optima was my first 1/10th scale racer back in the 80's. For me this car ticked all the boxes back then and still does for me today. I have owned this new built Optima for many years now and is one of my most prized models.
I've had a go...

You're welcome, I am posting these pictures on my website every time I see a Beautiful Optima Restoration. If you want it more personalized, you can give me your first name, instaed of your user from RC10talk, just like Henk from the Netherland...
Hey all, I just started the resto process on a nicely used Optima scored from the bay. I plan to get the box art paint and sticker scheme down. This build will acomplish 2 things, supply me with a buggy to model bodies, and get me a bada$$ shelf...

Thanks to the fellow Floridian that offered this to me, thanks dude! (you know who you are) :D
I haven’t contributed anything to this message board in a while so I thought I’d post some pics of a newly completed 2019 TO re-release – for the one or two members out there who might be interested in seeing this car.
