Need info on this, the more the better. I remember it had a white black and I think yellow body with yellow wing and yellow wheels. The dog (few years back) got the rear wheels and the body.

Its not a cr, its an early xx with a graphite chassis

Its the xx for sure.When they came out originally had slider shafts and plastic outdrives.It appears to have steel outdrives and cr axles on it and the graphite chassis kit.I have a set of xx wheels but dont think i have the plastic covers.DON

Yep a XX.
CR had different rear arms. Looks like xx steering cranks too . Has the clip hole for the xx cr battery strap though.
Very nice buggy to drive.

You should be able to get a body from Team Bluegroove on Ebay. I actually was able to source genuine XX bodies on Amazon.com too as late as last year. By what it started life as, if you mean what does it look like stock, here's a pic of mine:
