Request for a new section
We really need a Great Deals section and not for Craigs List junk but for established RC online shops like RC4WD or Great Hobbies. The ebay section is pretty much tied down to ebay crap so there's no where to post up the great deals we stumble across on the internet.
We have this on a computer forum I'm on and it's very well used. The concept is easy; you see a great rc deal FROM A DEALER NOT EBAY, CRAIGS LIST OR SOME OTHER USED CRAP PLACE, somewhere and post the link with a brief description of what's for sale and when the sale ends.

I to would like to see if it's possible
If we could ad a chat room section of some sort
Other sites have forums like this and also
Have a small live chat function
Don't know if this is possible
But it sure would be cool
Thx

Chat room won't happen, not supported by phbb, and it wouldn't stay civil anyway

Re: Request for a new section
Just start an off topic thread with links and info. If the interest is there it will thrive, if not it will wither and die like so many of my threads(not to mention hopes and dreams after marriage). It would make a nice test market.Mindwarp wrote:We really need a Great Deals section and not for Craigs List junk but for established RC online shops like RC4WD or Great Hobbies. Re: Request for a new section
It won't work if it's a single thread in off topic, the deals will get lost in all the commentary. It needs to be in it's own section with each deal thread standing on it's own. Heck, I even volunteer to moderate it!

Apparently not if they don't address a specific requirement. I can explain it again if you want.scr8p wrote:do we not have enough forums already?

Re: Request for a new section
this is kinda what the ebay section is supposed to be for already. Its just not what most of the members use it for.
I'm not saying that your idea isn't a good one but for this being a vintage board most of the stuff that most of the guys around here are interested in was sold out before internet was mainstream.
The link in the off chat area has been done before already with some good outcomes. If I remember right there are alot of b4 kits floating around this board because of it.
Its just an opinion but I like the board like this. If I want a complicated forum with a crapload of stuff I'd never get around to seeing I visit rctech
