Anybody have a Team Losi YoYo?
Anybody have a Team Losi YoYo?
I discovered these by accident after checking into the extra web address on the back of a friends part package for yoyoyo.com. The website is dead but a little research turned up that losi made yoyo's. I did a quick ebay search and found that they where not that expensive so I picked up a Sliver series a few minutes ago and am not waiting for it to come in. I just thought I would see if anyone else had one.

Re: Anybody have a Team Losi YoYo?
When I was in middle school those almost caught on. A few people had them but hackysacks and fingerboards (miniture skateboards for your index and middle finger) became all the rage. This was about 1998-1999! From what I saw they seemed high quality, they had ball bearings and stuff. I know a guy who is in my network of Datsun people who is literally a pro yoyo guy, he competes and everything. I'm kinda curious what he would have to say about the Team Losi yoyo's! Wouldn't it be funny if he was like "OMG you have a Team Losi yoyo? Those are the best most high quality yoyo's ever made and they are so hard to find!"

Most of what I have found says they are nice beginner pieces. Steve Brown is the guy who did most of the development on them and the line stopped when horizon bought out losi.

I have 3 or 4 Losi YoYo's. 2 vintage NIB, one runner and one plastic one that Losi gave out at RCX a few years ago!

I still haven't decided if I will open mine although I probably will. I can't wait for it to get here though.

Re: Anybody have a Team Losi YoYo?
I was just at my LHS with a friend tonight, and noticed they still have about 20 NIP Losi yo-yo's hanging on a rack. They have Da Bombs, Grim Sleepers and extra strings. They were about $8-15 and I can pick them up and ship if anyone is interested.

I have "Da Bomb" around here somewhere. In other vintage RC YoYo news, Bob Rule of Bolink fame was a HUGE celeb in the YoYo world.

Well he was "mr yo-yo" and it wasn't cause of the Bolink cars!
I have lots of respect for Mr Rule. He contributed to our sport just as did Mr Moody, Thorpe, Curtis, and on and on
