Delrin Arms for '94 YZ10

I have been corresponding with Chad Smith over at Dynotech-Racing about making some delrin repro arms for the '94 YZ10. I sent him my stock arms as a template and he now has CAD drawings of the front and rear lower arms, as well as the front upper arms. He's going to machine them out of white 6/6 Delrin and the process should take 3-4 weeks to complete for all six arms.

The amount of kick-up (or rather, kick-down) in the lower arms cannot be reproduced, unfortunately, so the arms will be machined as flat arms. I do not expect that to change the suspension geometry by much, though. Each of the lower arms are $25 each and the front upper arms are $15 each. Figured I'd let everyone here know, since you should now finally have a source for repro arms for post-870C YZ10s.

Count me in, this is awesome news! Will you be listing them in the BST?
If there is a list, ill take front and rear lowers to trial!

Well I don't know whether listing them in BST is necessary, since I am not selling them. You can contact Dynotech Racing directly if you want to buy a set. I plan to post pictures to this thread when I receive mine in about a month.

Sounds good, ill contact them come the time, still not sure how it'll affect things not having the droop/kink in the arm, but, surely it'll be negligible? Anyway, finding front lower arms is a pain in the rear.

I'm certainly very interested. I want to run my YZ10 so having a spare set of arms would be brilliant.

It is cool they are getting made, but $100 to replace a set of arms that I've never seen break seems a bit much for me. Sets go on ebay often for $10-20 a set. Always good to use a newer replacement though and save the vintage parts.

I look forward to seeing them, I bet they will look awesome!

Yeah, they're not exactly cheap, but they're a lot easier to find than the occasional arm that pops up on eBay or BST threads. Anyway, I should have pics in a month or so.

Its true, just try finding arms of late, i managed to pick up a pair of NIP Pavidis rear, but I'm still to see front NIP, and the wait is a pain, so the $100 for me, isn't too bad a trade off for a usage part.
Maybe its worth looking into other parts, such as lower suspension arm hangers etc, I've seen them fail, but to my mind, little else, the car really is a tank...but this option would save costly original parts for the shelf?

Totally agree, I see what you mean now. At least they are 'on tap' and you can get them when you need them.

i also contacted chad and had some arms made for my lazer zxr and all i can say that his work is top notch and you can sit and look at em for hours

Guys, would it be possible to have diff pulleys made this way??? Just a though seeing as they are so limited in supply?
Another one would be the ZD411 arm mounts in white nylon? I ve seen those break and I could supply a pattern for those....but the diff pulley i can't, but if its feasible...anybody got one to loan for a pattern?

if you know the belt pitch and the tooth count, it's possible to buy a pulley blank and have it machined into a bunch of pulleys. the only issue would be the belt guide rails on the pulleys themselves, but they can be glued or attached in some fashion i'd imagine.

a cnc mill or lathe, or even manual equipment with a rotary table would make them quite easily.

ZD411 repro would be a good idea. I wouldn't mind picking up a set. Come to think of it, how cool would it be to make delrin parts of every plastic part on the YZ10

As for the pulleys, at least for now, toprcsupply.com should have them. Shipping from there is expensive, though.

I saw those, but noticed they are yokomo "NOT YZ10", not sure what that means?

I have the 35t set that is marked for Works 93. I have never seen a set by RW for the later 33t pulley (ZD-503).
