several of those drivers should've known better. For the renters of moving trucks that they drive themselves...thats what insurance is all about

they need to put a good blade on that thing so it will do like a sardine can when peeling the roof off of vehicles plus it should make the bridge last longer from all the impacts.

I've seen that vid many times, and it always amazes me how unaware drivers REALLY are! For the truck drivers, it's not like you don't reflexively duck when you get to something like that, what makes you think your truck is going to make it? For the idiots pulling a trailer or driving an RV, are you really THAT stupid to not know you're pulling a big thing behind you or driving a big thing under a low thing?

Sorry, no sympathy for ignorance. :?

yeah, something to go along with that is "you can't fix stupid."

We've got a bridge like that with the warning lights and everything associated with that about 45 minutes away from me and will see it on the news a couple times a year that someone is stuck under the bridge again. At least by the looks of this video they took some preventative bridge repair action and installed some iron before the vehicle actually hits the bridge :)

And to go along with that, I have never been in a rental truck that didn't clearly mark the height of the truck boldly everywhere so that the driver knows how tall the truck is. Are you trying to tell me that there is no conscious connection made with all these stickers and the bridge height impairment signs? There is never a question in the mind that the vehicle is going to fit? Not even one? Even a little? Just a tiny little bit??????

The older I get the dumber the world around me seems! Present company excluded of course...............

These guys are not even hitting the bridge - it is protected by a huge I -Beam that most be 1/2" or bigger plate thicknesses! With flashing "LIGHTS". Most be an area where everyone is one a cell phone GPS looking for the next turn off the highway....

This video is just too funny - cameras set up by the town to cover there butts from asleep drivers. thank you for sharing flipwils11 !
Old is more FUN

No, it is not us that feel older, and less "smarter". I can tell you all that is the others that are much "Stupider".

I see it every day at work and let me tell you all, There are a ton of extremely dense people out there.

Don't let it drag you down, Just roll the eyes and move on. Trying to correct them in mid conversation will only bring on more "stupidness".

To see it from the other viewpoint, maybe it was the bridge designer who's retarded. It seems to me that the bridge is too low for everyday standard-height commercial vehicles to pass under. Those are mostly ordinary average trucks getting their top 6" - 12" peeled off. :P
Completed projects: CYANide Onroad Optima | Zebra Gold Optima | Barney Optima | OptiMutt RWD Mid
Gallery - Coel's Stalls: Marui Galaxy & Shogun Resto-Mods | FrankenBuff AYK Buffalo | 1987 Buick GNX RC12L3

According to the guys on Wrecked, what most commonly happens is when the roadway is retopped, they just add a layer over the existing surface, then forget to change the height signs. There could be a bit of this going on, but me thinks that vehicles have just gotten too big and drivers too stupid to know better.
