New-old Chevys in Nebraska
A friend of mine posted this link today, of a Chevy dealer in Nebraska that's going to be auctioning off about 500 cars, including a few dozen brand new 50s-60s rides. Absolutely amazing stuff. They're still inventorying everything. I can't wait to see the list.

That is just crazy! I hope no mice or other rodents got to them. I wonder what they will go for once the auction starts in Sept.?

Wow, that is really cool. I'm betting those cars will fetch a tidy sum. Assuming they can be cleaned up a bit prior to selling, I would think they will get good money.
Just remembered, there is an old BMW dealer near where I grew up which is a bit like that. They have a showroom still and its got a bunch of cool 80's era BMW's, all brand new. The story is that the dealer opened, then closed shortly afterwards but never sold the inventory or building and it just sits there.

I wonder if they'll sell for more than window sticker price?

i heard about this a little while ago. the single digit mileage on some of those cars is crazy.
scr8p doesn't have the bank account to go after any of that stuff.

I'd love that Cameo. The 78 Vette was one I drooled over as a kid, but 1.3 miles on a 1956 pickup?? SICK.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Yup, me too. '78-'82, IMHO, was the best looking version. Sadly, they quit making the Corvette after '82. I know what you're going to say, it's still around, no, that is another car with the same name. The Corvette ceased to exist when they took all of those sexy curves out of it, they're finally putting a few back in, but it's still a butt-ugly car none-the-less.civilguy wrote:I'd love that Cameo. Re: New-old Chevys in Nebraska
Having worked at a new car dealer for almost 20 yrs, I could probably count on one hand the # of new cars I've seen with 1 mile on the odometer. Usually they have 2-3 by the time we see them. To see one from the 50's is cool-even from a Ford guy. (I think I just heard a groan from the GM crowd!)
