Arms with "Wide Inner Hinge Pin" Thread??
Arms with "Wide Inner Hinge Pin" Thread??
Anyone remember what Im talking about? I went back 3 pages and couldnt find it. I got me a Set of White Rear Arms (WooHoo), but when I tried to put them on, I found the Inner Hinge Pins were a bit short. I have 2 Full Sets, plus an "extra".
Are the Wider ones "special" in any way?
Should I wait, and find "Narrow" Arms or Wider Hinge Pins?
OR
Can/Should I just Cut these to work?

any white rc10 rear arm is gonna need the long inner hinge pin (6380). the newer style black arms that are still available require the rear inner truck hinge pin (7365?).

Just as an FYI - AE apparently produced the newer (narrower) style in white for a short time before converting to black. I don't know if there were ever sold individually, but I’ve seen them on a couple of the later team car kits. Like scr8p, I always thought that all white rear arms were the wider ones until just recently while restoring a team car. The rear arms on that car and my shelfer are both narrow and white. I also have an older open-box team car kit and it has the wide white rear arms in the 6-8 bag.

I just looked in my arms stash, I've got some of those too. They are also reinforced in the "X" cutaway like the black arms...aeiou wrote:Just as an FYI - AE apparently produced the newer (narrower) style in white for a short time before converting to black. Re: Arms with "Wide Inner Hinge Pin" Thread??
Ok, so unless someone has a strong objection, Im just gonna "Trim" the worst Set (1 has SMALL crack) to work with the "narrow" Pins I have. I know everyone basically says, "Do what you want", but I am a "Closet, SEMI Purist". I will save Best Set for after I find/can afford Wide Pins, so I can be a REAL Purist later.
Alright, "long story, short"....Are there plenty Wide White ones, as to not worry about "modding" a pair?

If this is for a display car, you could just use the short pins until you can get the longer ones. Just push them in towards the front with an e-clip on the back. They'll extend far enough into the arm to hold it in place.
