Can a stock RC10T4 handle brushless power?

Post by sbsyncro »

Hey guys, I have not torn apart the diff or trans in my (new to me) T4 to see what's inside. What is the consensus on the drivetrain being able to handle a moderate brushless setup? (something like the Castle Sidewinder SCT 3800kv)?

Are the trans gears metal or plastic? Diff? How strong are the axles?

Since this car is no longer in production, I'm assuming it may be hard to get upgrade parts for…?

Thanks!

Brent

It can handle ALOT. With that car, the question is not how much power it can handle, but how much power can be used while keeping the car lexan side up.

Good to hear! In upgrade is in the works! Any other suggestions for a ~$100 brushless system?

Many guys here swear by Hobbywing stuff. I've not used it personally as I'm a Castle fanboy but that's what seems to be popular.

I'm running a Novak Havoc 3s with an Novak 8.5 turn motor in one and a Novak Pulse with a 7.5 turn motor in my other. The only problem I had was melting my spur gears when I ran a 3s lipo.
