Does anyone know the best to get scratches out of fiberglass? Or is it possible?

Sand with different grades of sand paper, heavy to fine, and then polish with car wax. If scratches are deep, you are S.O.L !

I think many fiberglass surfaces have a gelcoat top layer, most are probably not just raw fiberglass. If the scratched surface is otherwise nice & smooth, you could prep it for a bit of gelcoat to fill the cracks/scratches, then you polish the gelcoat layer smooth again, flush with the good surrounding fiberglass. I've never worked with fiberglass but I think that's how you'd repair deeper scratches or cracks. I found this tutorial that might be of help:

I wasn’t good enough with my Google fu to find the threads on how to fill holes in a tub chassis.

I was thinking that I could turn bondo black and use it to fill holes and scratches in a black aluminum chassis.

How big are the holes? Are they extra screw holes that got drilled, or are they slightly bigger holes?

The holes are regular screw holes, one is for servo horn access and 2 more are for mounting the steering servo across from the standard...

I Searched fiberglass here, and saw mention of G4 and G10. Whats the difference, thickness maybe??

Tha reason I ask is, I think Ive found a MOTHERLOAD!! I happen to ask a Guy who Paintball here, and works in a Machine Shop, if they had any scraps....

this is what i use on the straight sections of fiberglass/carbon fiber

its like a $20 attachments, but works amazing, its expensive but lasts a pretty long time, and cuts through fiberglass like a warm knife through butter.

ill also use this...

So, have you / can you dye fiberglass the same way we dye nylon parts? Good results?

The frankenbuggy build of mine uses a T2 rear shock tower. The old fiberglass one on there is somehow warped so the ends are forward 1/8-3/16 inch. I can get either a black glass one or a graphite one for the same price. Which one would be better to...

I picked up a sheet of 1/8 g-10 and was going to cut out some shock towers. I have a scroll saw, cutoff wheel etc. Is there anything special I need to know before I start cutting? I know the dust is an itchy pita but is there anything else? Thanks...

Guys, i won 2 rc10l cars on the bay.........my narrow car is a graphite chassis..my wide 10L has a fiberglass chassis.....i want the fiberglass chassis to be black also........i dyed the t-plate and other small glass parts in my crock-pot black in...

i put a t cup of salt in a pan with the dye
lay some table knifes in the bottom to keep the parts of the direct heat .then rolling boil for about ten mins then simmer for an hour

then serve up with a sprig of parsley and some fresh black...

Looking for 1/8 black fiberglass sheet for some chassis parts and shock towers. Where is the most affordable place to get it? Mcmaster-carr only has gray, I didnt see black as an option. Thanks
