I would like to build a battery pack and was wondering what are some quality AND a relatively inexpensive sources for sub c cells? I have found some Ultracell 3300mAh cells, but I have no idea about the quality. I absolutely want to avoid the cheap ones. I purchased some AA 2500mAh rechargeable batteries (BTY brand) from Ebay and they were HORRIBLE compared to our two main brands. Appreciate any information.

Hi Guys,
I have a 5000mah duratrax nimh stick that has been having some problems. It didn't seem like it was holding a charge anymore, but went through a full charging cycle at 4.5 amps yesterday. Today when I ran it, it didn't seem to be putting...

Extra initial expense. Long run, they cost a lot less, because after 30 cycles, you aren't worried about where you should take them to dispose of them properly. ;)

Is there anyone who reproduces shrink wrap to make a new nimh sub-c cell look like an old 2000 or 3300? I think it would be a neat idea. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I have some old peak and trinity cells I would be willing to scan if someone wants to attempt to print.

Happy to cut off the factory cover and scan flat - then using LRP or similar cells would be the go.

Clear pvc style shrink over the top would...

For my restoration project, I tried to revive my old SCR's for fun but they are very weak and heard some pop during charge. Maybe use them for display purposes it seems.

What is the best nimh battery? I'm looking for a preassembled pack that's 7 cells and preferably at about 3000 mah. I don't have the money or means to run a lipo, so what brand will give me the best battery life and run time for the least cost?

I run lipo batteries through old esc's with no issues. The old esc's do not have lipo low voltage cutoff though so you either need to purchase a separate cutoff or an alarm. A simple alarm that alerts you that you should stop running is as low as $5...

My RC history is all with NiCd batteries. For them, the general rule was to fully discharge before recharging. I'm using NIMH now because I'm not quite ready to jump to Lipo batteries. I'm not really sure what proper cycling and conditioning is for...

Out of curiosity, why? If running standard 7.2v 6-cell NIMH packs, they make 2S Lipo packs that are almost direct replacements from a size and appearance standpoint.

I have 4 3300mah NiMh packs that i'll be running on my losi XX at the VNats. Can I charge these packs the night before and then peake them on race day?? or should I just charge them before racing??

Whats the life span of nimh battery?? how many years are they worth keeping?? i have some old race packs that im debating on junking.. if i cycle them they seem to work ok..sometimes i even charge my new nimh for about 45 and then they only last 3...
