Limestangs Advanced Racing Build
Back in the late 80's I converted my RC10 to mid motor using the Advanced Racing setup. I eventually converted back, but have absolutely no idea what i did with the parts. When Derrick and Fred offered reproduction parts I was psyched!
The bulkhead and trans mount came in a while back, and the Chassis came in today (Thanks Derrick & Fred!). I decided to start the build with some parts I had stashed for a special occasion. I thought the motor went well with Derrick's cool Skull engravings. The Rogue Element Trans matches the shiny aluminum bulkhead. I'm planning on black plastic, and will use RPM arms and other aftermarket parts as I go along. I only have one RPM battery cup, if I can locate a second, i thought that might be a nice way to go. Attached are some initial photos:
I hope you like it,

Looks awesome. Any thoughts of putting it on an oval chassis? Unique the way it is for sure, but man it screams oval to me.
Yeah I know, "Well then buy your own and put in an oval chassis!"

I wonder what that amount of aluminum does to the cars balance fore-and-aft? There's lots of metal there. Aluminum may generally be light, but not as light as plastic.

That looks fantastic Limestang! I can't wait to see the rest of this build! Yes, Fred and myself have worked together to reproduce this.

I made 8 chassis in total on this run. 2 were one offs with cell slots. One had the 10T front nose.

Re: Limestangs Advanced Racing Build
Made some progress this weekend.
1) Decided to switch to a Losi Bellcrank, to better match the other aluminum components.
2) RPM Arms
3) Lundsford Tie Rods
4) AE Hard Anodized Shocks (not sure if i like the look, may switch to polished).
5) Added Derick's custom front bumper
I am missing some of the black parts, so will have to wait for them to arrive. Not sure what do to on the battery cups and servo mounts yet. Recommendations appreciated.
