Losi XX Front Shock Tower Conversion

Post by mikedealer »

not sure if its been done or tested, but i found 4-5 at my LHS and decided to give it a try, comes out perfect. Bottom needs about .5 mm sanded off, and then just holes drilled to match.

that picture above is post drilling, had to drill 6 holes, but you can get away with less.

mounted it on my "runner car", no need to modify tower for nose tubes in any way. its a nice fit, and there are a bunch of them on ebay right now too

i actually saw that and that is what inspired me to try. the problem when i tryed that with my tower was that i could use the nose tubes with the b3 tower. when i saw these xx towers sitting there, i just had to try lol.

That is a really nice car btw mikedealer, nice alloy bellcranks and polished bits and pieces.

Looks really nice with the XX tower on it, well done.

wow , i'll have to try that one. i have some jammin jay xx upgrade towers here in fiberglass and carbon fiber. i got them a while ago and never thought of doing that now im gonna have to try it. mabey they will look good on one of my sprint car conversions, the large opening inside just may clear the custom works cage downtubes. thanks for the idea!

just to clarify too, you will need to take like 1mm off the bottom of the XX plate otherwise it wont sit right on the RC10 noseplate, i used a belt sander for mine
