YZ-10 front shock tower ID
I happened to see a photo about a YZ-10 recently, probably it belonged to Brian Kinwald with his typical painting scheme.
Anyone knows whether the front shock tower was custom-made or available in the market ??
thanks !!

Re: YZ-10 front shock tower ID
I have a carbon fiber one slimier to this, but I think this is a stock works 91 (or perhaps 92) tower that has been cut down. But i'm not sure, it looks a little taller than the 91?

Re: YZ-10 front shock tower ID
I think that may just be an original '89 YZ10 front tower that has that mod that is floating around where you Dremel off the outer holes for the upper shock mount to give the tower the rounded look. I think most of the team guys ran the inside hole on the tower so this mod was common. Also less tower to catch the dirt when flipped upside down helping to prevent broken front bulkheads!

I got a few more pictures from yahoo.jp, with the same front tower. Seems that this mod was quite common in the past.

Not sure about the shock caps because the resolution of the picture was low.xxxmain wrote:Are those molded front shock caps in the pic??
In the picture, I can see the front bumper was cut small, & using the white arms.

It is my understanding that the shock tower pictured is the Craig Drescher shock tower.bscotti wrote:perhaps this will help fuel the debate ...

That's the tower I have, and talked about in my post above. I'm sure there are some better pics of Brian's YZ10 in some of Jurgas (?) RRC magazine scans?bscotti wrote:perhaps this will help fuel the debate ...
