RC10 CE Stealth Rebuild

I just recently purchased two RC 10's and I have been doing some research on this great web site.
Anyways the 1st RC 10 is a Championship Edition, I believe that it is a mid or late generation model.

Here are some specifics:
* "B" stamped chassis.
* Green label Associated competition stock motor.
* Black plastic shock caps.
* Dark green shock springs.
* 6 hole front shock tower.

This RC 10 came with the box, instruction manual, radio, and some other odds and ends.

The plan is to go through the car and get it running again. I began pulling the front end apart just to clean up things and fix any issues.

I noticed that when the tie rods were removed from the block carrier and the steering block that these parts were moving very smoothly. When I pulled apart the block carrier and the steering block I found a bent king pin, part # 6223. I also noticed that the longer tie rod (#6263) was bent as well. The front axle on this side was also stripped due to the PO using the wrong sized nut.

Here are a couple photos of the completed front end. All the white plastic parts were cleaned prior to installing the new nose plate, Dhawk steering cranks, and the JConcepts titanium turnbuckle set. I am waiting on bearings so I can finish the front wheels.

I am still waiting on getting all the bearings that I need for the Stealth transmission, front wheels, and the rear wheel hubs.

I have seen some guys on here doing a rear Yokomo wheel conversion on their RC10's. I think that I would like to do one as well.
Is there a specific parts list that anyone would have to complete said conversion.....???

I also just found a set of new Hot Trick Yokomo wheel adapters on the bay, but I have read on here that those probably are not the best parts to use. Any advice guys? Thanks.

Well I have received all of the bearings that I ordered from on-line. Now it's time to start working on the stealth transmission.
I had completely tore down the transmission and removed all the bushings. The case was cleaned prior to rebuild.
The transmission seems to be smoother now that all the bearings are in place.

The stealth transmission was mounted on the motor plate, along with the clutch and the cleaned up spur gear.
The rear bulkhead was installed along with the rear suspension mounts and rear A-arms.
All the rear plastic parts were scrubbed cleaned prior to being re-installed on the chassis.






I purchased a new set of front T.Q.-70 tires and rear T.Q.-20 tires to run on this RC 10.
However the front T.Q.-70 tires seemed a little to wide for the stock CE wheels. So I ended up re-installing
the stock ribbed tires up front. The T.Q.-20 tires seem to fit perfectly on the CE rear wheels.







Finally, I noticed in an earlier post that I installed the front shocks incorrectly on the front A-arms, so I fixed that issue.
I also forgot to mention that the front nose plate was also replaced with a re-release nose plate. I still need to install the
nose brace tubes......

I wanted to upgrade the Stealth transmission brace with something other than the stock plastic brace.
So a few months ago I purchased this JG Mfg. no flex tranny brace off of Ebay.
I finally got the brace installed with some brand new stainless steel screws. I must say that I am pretty happy with this upgrade on the RC10.

I still need to pick up a body and then decide on the paint job I want.

The black brace is very nice, but I am undecided on the stainless steel hardware.
I need to pull the brace off and install the rear body mount.
