RC10CE (Stealth) Salvage Rebuild

Post by Winger »

First, I am trying to buy some shocks but want to makes sure I get the correct ones. Std RC10 Edinger/Cadillac vs. RC10CE?

After figuring out the front shock issue-thanks guys-and a bit of prompting I thought I would just start a build thread on this car. I hope to get help getting this mostly correct and as a decent running original CE stealth car as it was when new.

Thunderstrike has come to my cry for help in the parts dept (other thread.)

Anyway this beast has been through ____ and back as you can see, but I have to fix this thing for some odd reason.

Here are the fleabay shots of it (before I got it):

Had to give what parts I do have their required bath time today (7/17):

Torn down:

I will update to this post again when I get many of the parts allowing me to make a dent in this thing. :)

Now, here is the somewhat complicated part..... There are bottom loading ones for early 6 gear CE's and top loading ones for the later CE's and are different part numbers....

I had to do a quintuple take last night when I looked at the 25 year thread over this project. I looked and saw a CE stealth then looked again and wondered what is up with the 6-gear CE...thinking I know I saw a stealth CE...looked further down and then alas CE stealth again :!:  Then the shocks.

Totally appreciate the direction from you guys on bringing this one back to life.

I would do a build thread on this but, I dont plan on doing a shelf queen. Just something to add to my collection.

That's alright post away right on this thread. Just change your title. A LOT of the build threads here are for runners. :D

Yes- in fact, bottom loading shocks were only on the short arm cars after 90' (CE intro)
