so there i was on a sunday setting up a little studio in my living room to take pictures of work related stuff when all the sudden a quick pic of a rc10 turned into a full-on photoshoot of all my 'completed' projects.

yes, most are shelf queens, but the runners i do have are super pimp if i say so myself.

anyway, the light in my house is crap, and the pics came out kinda funky. but better than nothing right?

please give some loading time, there are more than a few pics...

btw, anybody want to paint some lids for me?

i wasnt as aggressive in the past with picking up kits as i should have been, but at least i snagged a couple:

OMG dude

That's a sweet collection. Probably the nicest I've ever seen. Awsome! 8)

I do have a humble suggestion though, you should put a white GT in there ASAP. :D

Simply awesome.

You're not married, are you.

If I'm not mistaken, Advanced Engineering never made a sprint car conversion, only the wheels that are on that car. Looks like an Ascot chassis to me (similar to Big Boys Toys, only with single tube rear and side nerf bars), with MRC mw-pattern tires (English molds—VERY rare tires, and coveted by the 1/8th scale dirt sprint car guys). Advance may have originally advertised sprint chassis, but they were Ascot-made. Oh yeah, and body is a McAllister Gambler (still available new, if you can believe that).

Nice job, only thing missing to my eyes is the 4wd MIP Legend you'll soon add since I saw you bought it recently on Ebay... I must say I'm a little bit jealous... all the RC10 story is there; WAW :!:

thanks guys, i get alot of enjoyment out of either just cleaning up ebay rigs or putting together parts to make my own.

apex, that is indeed an advanced engineering kit. i dont know if i still have the box the conversion came in but i bought it n.i.p. about 6 or 7 years ago off ebay, i should still have the instructions somewhere. it came in a box with the advanced engineering sprintcar conversion label complete with the cage, chassis, headers, side panels, wing&body, and wheels&tires. i dont doubt it was made by another company since the major pieces all are the same as the ascot. i didnt know the body was still available, i'll have to get another one and keep it clear!!

i cant wait for the stealth mip legend to show up, it was pricey but dammit i really really wanted the bits. i dont know exactly what i'm gonna do with the parts off it... i got a couple new blacktub chassis i could use i guess. i have another complete belt drive pre-stealth mip 4x4 kit and yet another pre-stealth kit minus the tranny, so needless to say i got alot of damn 4x4 projects. the problem is that i just havent felt like goin through the trouble of modding the chassis for all the parts to mount up to. maybe all my 4x4 kits will be with gold pans. i need some color in my collection...

i got another composite craft chassis that needs just a few more parts to be done, its different than the ones in the pics since its based off a normal buggy suspension and not the rpm widearm conversion. i also have another rpm buggy but its non-dyed white and never ran, that one as well just needs a few bits. then i got a couple sassy chassis and another fusion speed still in the package. and, uh, i just got alot of stuff...

also got a big box of junk that i keep planning on taking pics of and listing them in the buy/sell area...
(nothing for sale yet...)

Good stuff. I had a faint memory of them re-boxing the Ascot kit, but I wasn't sure completely, and I was leaning towards them NOT offering a kit. I remember seeing the car on display at the Chicago Hobby Show, but lots of companies used other kits as displays. That's one helluva score as a boxed new kit. As a display, those tires and wheels are awesome, but as a racer, they sat on the shelf.

Freakin' cool collection, man. My wife caught me looking at the cars and she said, "what do you think you're looking at?" I tied to convince her it was porn.

the 2 gts i have started out as the oldschool white versions but thru the years just kinda evolved into the blue chassis versions. back then when they were still tubs and before i started collecting other rc10s i didnt care at all about the white parts and immediately dyed it all black...

i've actually been looking for an original gt kit, but no luck...

Yeah, I know how the evolution of a GT can go. When I got my first one it was all white, then a couple months later I got one and they had allready changed it to black. Since then I have owned at least 10 GT's (alot more than that depending on how you count un-assembled parts) and 5 or 6 of them have had flat chassis', but I have never actually bought a flat chassis kit.

I just got a white one in good shape that I am fixing up to be a shelf queen. It's been used, so it's not perfect, but it's in very good condition over-all. The new ones are few and far these days, but I sure would like to have one someday. They show up on ebay every once in a while, but they aren't cheap! :D

This must be to most complete collection on the planet!

Looking at the tekin chassis pics, what is the difference between the truck an buggy version? All I can tell, it's the shock twer right?
