Tube Build #2 (Completed)
Well i am assembling a new prototype for the real racing chassis clone...
i know its not much to look at but this is what i did in the last 2 hours...
going to try and do some more today...
but once i get things rolling we will see a bunch very soon... possibly within the next 2 weeks here
i know it looks brown and disgusting.. but its mostly discolored flux... they can be sanded to be shiny new.

Re: Tube Build #2
alright i know it aint much to look at still..but im working on it...
i experimented with the side rails and made them sideways and used rod instead of steel (smaller guage rod) to give it more strength.. i think the standup peices in the original chassis makes it weak and vulnerable to hits and bad bends on landings.. this thing as it is now.. feels like a brickshithouse.. the original one i prototyped and used stand up tube made it feel very flimsy..
ill offer both ways of course.. and post some pictures of the other one...
but what do you all think.. i know it looks like crap... but its all roasted flux on there.. look beyond the flux lol

Re: Tube Build #2
I'm sorry Mike, but in the first pic, the front plate defo looks like it has been reversed...

Re: Tube Build #2
Mike, take another look... it is reversed. Try screwing one of the front mounts on with the plate like that and you'll see.

Re: Tube Build #2
it looks correct in the last pic, and that would be the one that matters. since the chassis is done in that one.

Re: Tube Build #2
Mike,
That does look good. Is that aluminum or steel? Would definitely be down for one too if you decide to put some together...

Re: Tube Build #2
all steel (aluminum welding woould require a tig welder (about $1000 bucks lol) and it would be pretty flexible.
