A stamp RC10 questions

Post by Brent J »

Hi,

I'm refreshing my first RC car which happens to be a Gold pan A-stamp RC10 that I raced when I started out 30+ years ago. Prior to the re-build, the car was box stock. I have 2 questions:

1) Is there a simple upgrade to the dogbone's? Id like to replace with a CVD / Uni joint but keep the standard 6 gear outdrives which it currently has.. Is there an AE ebay option that would be a direct replacement that will work with the stock hubs & bearings? I cannot recall what the later Team Car or Worlds had or if they are available.
If anyone could provide a part number that would be great.

2) Is there a simple way to remove the gold shock snap rings from the bottom of the shock body? My nap ring tool is way too large and I can see that if I try to pry it out, it will become a projectile, never to be seen again!

Cheers
Brent

That small snap ring if you pry it out with a small screwdriver just cover the end with a rag while you are removing it and you wont lose it.

Hi, question 1 the Associated CV part number is ASC6371.
Regards
Remember it's either a runner or a shelfer. Everything else is just parts.

Hi there!
I could be wrong but if your A-stamp has 1/4" axels the part could be 6369.
Lexus knows Rc10s better than I but I thought it might be at least another part number to search for.
Good luck, fairly rare.
