YZ 10 restoration and questions
Why were there rubber gaskets under the bulkheads? Does anyone make replacements? I have a Composite Craft Lower deck that is 2.7mm thick and weighs 128 grams seems a lot stiffer that the Yokomo part that weighs 140 grams. Seem odd to me that the the thicker plate is lighter.

Re: YZ 10 restoration and questions
The rubber gaskets are to prove the bulkheads from wearing/cutting into the chassis, I had an old YZ870C than didn’t have the gaskets and it sort of ground into the chassis with the vibrations of using the car. The gaskets aren’t available anymore, they are 0.56mm thick rubber, easy enough to cut out some more.
I would say the composite craft chassis is more likely just better material, probably more cloth and less resin than the original.

The difference is carbon fiber vs fiberglass. The stock chassis is fiberglass. The composite craft one would be carbon fiber

I did a similar weigh-in experiment when I had a couple of 870c's stripped down... although both had the stock centre spine still attached.
The standard 870c/YZ-10 chassis like yours plus spine came in at 154grams, but what amazed me was the other, which was the optional Associated carbon fibre hop-up (the one with the lovely weave to it) plus spine, which came in at just 103grams. That is quite some difference
