New member here coming back from a hiatus

Post by Rlayman »

Hey guys, so i was in the hobby back in the 90’s when the rc10 t and Losi jrxt were all the rage. I started on a Traxxas sledgehammer and moved to a rc10t team truck. Also ran a rc10l pan car here and there. So I found my old 10t and tool box one day. Put it back into storage and what do you know. I stumbled upon this page about a month back. I haven’t seen my 10 t team truck in about six months so I went to digit out. Well, it’s “vanished”. Seems the other half did some “organizing” and I’m pretty sure it’s long gone with nice rpm arms and shock towers, only was raced a handful of times. It was a nice runner. So, with the rc itch I got me a Losi xxt cr granite plus. At a real good price. It was ran and isn’t mint, but a good rebuild and I think this one will be fun to get back out there.i figured fo under a 100$ delivered was a steal. I saw a lot of nice rebuilds here so that was the inspiration on this. That and finding a gently used 10t team truck for that price is slim to none. I’m sure I will be asking lots of questions and for help, but pretty sure I came to the right place. Already got some new rear arms and a new body coming.

Bummer on the reorganizing/missing truck. My dad still talks about all his stuff his mom 86'd when he was in the Navy. I was lucky. My parents showed up one day and said,"here's the rest of your junk, did you think you were gonna leave it at our place forever?" That's when I got back into it and found this place!

Welcome!!
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Welcome to the forum! It pains me to think of all the RC buried in land fills everywhere. I sometimes imagine what would happen if I "cleaned" some of my wife's stuff. I'd probably never be seen again.

While my wife would never throw out any of my stuff, I did loose about 1/3 of a car when my storage unit flooded in a hurricane. I thought that I'd gotten all the parts out but must have missed a box.

I eventually replaced the missing parts but they cost me more than I paid for the car. Seeing that it was my first "real" car, it seemed like the right thing to do.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
