2012 TAMIYA DT-02 1/12 Nissan Titan

Post by TRX-1-3 »

Got this kit from a seller in Hong Kong awhile back. It was the "bonus parts" included version w/ball bearings and ESC. So that is cool. I have just been dragging out the completing of it. Finally got the electronics installed. The chassis setup is horrendous IMO. With the tub and battery box layout, you gotta crisscross the wires over the battey bar and the switch mount is a kilometer from where the esc logically goes. But I guess it "is what it is". It'll do for a little motoring around to get my "fix". Planning on letting the kid run it [into a curb ]. She's almost 6. Waaaay younger than when I got my mitts on the sticks. But it should be alright.

I've foregone the painted body....nobody stateside will ship the stuff to Korea and all the stuff available in-country is near $30USD per can. I did remember to contour up and across the tailgate for a nice spoiler cutout as a nod to the old stadium trucks. Still kicking myself for not shipping all my RC junk with me. Probably a blessing in disguise though....It would just snowball and then I'd have to ship it all back eventually. But then again for some reason it seems like the clock is ticking on all the cool plans I had for my other vintage projects.......Life, I guess. I'm sure we all experience the same feelings to some extent....

Anyhow, I guess I just had to post something.

That looks like a fun little basher. 1/12 scale could be an entertaining size for this. Same power but a little less truck/weight.
