It's Top Cat time!
Clawing it's way out if a box of styrofoam peanuts is a decently nice original Top Cat! I was really happy to work out a deal for this TC with the buyer of a 4x Schumacher lot. Was a lucky connection after he bought my K1 Aero. The TC buggy design exceeds my expectations for wonderful weirdness! In my quest for brushed motors he also had a Speed Gems Sapphire available. It's a duplicate for me but was too nice to pass up.
The TC needs a little maintenance, which includes a few missing fasteners and some diff work. Also need to decide if the pink body stays but just gets spruced up a bit. I have some pink Trinity modifieds getting refurbished and this could be a good home for one of them. Maybe the 12 turn double...

Re: It's Top Cat time!
Very nice score. It's the wrong pink in my humble opinion. But I pretty much only care for either magenta or hot pink like the A&L decal or that on Novak decals. So my opinion is biased and therefore doesn't count for squat

I wouldn't have painted it this pink, but I'll probably see what I can do with the shell before moving on to a new one

Real men roll out in pink….
Especially when it’s their daughter’s truck Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

Re: It's Top Cat time!
After a bit of cleanup and a sticker job, I think the pink shell will be fine until I come up with a paint job that I want for a new body. That might be a few years from now though.

Slap a Pink Panther decal on it and call it done! If you don't use it and it is in good condition, perhaps I can buy it from you. I have a couple I haven't gotten around to painting yet.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 10:15 pm I wouldn't have painted it this pink, but I'll probably see what I can do with the shell before moving on to a new one
In case you weren't aware, new bodies are still available from Schumacher. The ones on eBay are usually crazy expensive, presumably because folks don't realize you can still get them.

Re: It's Top Cat time!
I think it's getting one of these motors in it. In retrospect I should have asked for pink instead of hot pink, but they still cleaned up nicely.
. .
I need to get a gear cover for it. Is the re-re gear cover a direct fit on the old TC?

Re: It's Top Cat time!
The rear guard really conceals the motor.
. . .
I'm not sure that I'd really run with this 12 turn double installed... err, not a lot at least.

Re: It's Top Cat time!
Is this your first Top Cat? They are very light, very fast, and very wheelie prone I think a Top Cat with 12T double would be ballistic!
My re-re has a 10.5 brushless and it is really too much for it, even with the pro transmission/slipper clutch. I think it was faster around a track with the 13.5 blinky setup just because it was so much more composed and driveable. My track is very bumpy, though.

Re: It's Top Cat time!
Yes, this is definitely my first Top Cat. I need to dyno this motor. It climbs rpms fast and screams! It's mostly in the TC because it's pink and the aluminum end bell goes well with all the Schumacher aluminum. But as a rebuilt refurbished motor I'm not worried about running it.

Re: It's Top Cat time!
Does the U7600 pro transmission upgrade also fit the old TC? I snagged one assuming yes but maybe should have asked first.
