Hydra-drive transplanting

Post by Frankentruck »

I've got a basket case XXT on it's way to me and I'm wondering where else I can use this hydra-drive.

Specifically, I'm wondering if it would install onto any of the AE 2.25, 2.4, of 2.6 gearboxes, or onto a JRX2 gearbox. If so, would I just transfer the hydra-drive assembly or also the XXT gearbox top shaft? This XXT has enough wrong with it that it won't be destined for restoration, but there were some parts I wanted and was curious about.

Yes, but you'll need the appropriate hydra shaft for the trannies that you mentioned. Depending on the shaft used you may or may not be able to use the existing slipper backing plate.
