In 1993 Model Rectifier Corporation brought their "World Scale" to market with the MRC Thunder King. Offered as a larger option to 1/10 scale trucks the kit featured a pressed aluminum chassis, fiberglass shock towers, aluminum oil filled shocks and was sold with twin 540 motors and a mechanical speed controller. The Thunder King would be followed by the updated Thunder King BBX and the .21 powered Nitro Thunder King:

In 1993/94 I actually saw MRC demo the Thunder King into the "pow" cinder block wall at the iHobbyExpo.
I still can't believe that was over 30 years ago. I was only 15.
