Hey guys, I have a couple of Reedy Ultra series motors that need some new brushes. Does anyone have any suggestions or part numbers for oem or compatible substitutes? Is "compatible substitutes" kind of redundant? LOL! Hopefully tower hobbies has something?

Your best bet is the Reedy 766's. They're the same size and aren't too hard on the comm. Decent life and power as well. I think they're called a Quasar brush. There's also a newer long-life high power brush called the Plutonium. I'm not sure how they wear on the comm though.

This is a Trinity vintage motor using slot brushes. Infact the complete hardware on the endbell is different. From my knowledge this is one of the legendary motors made by Big Jim Greenemeyer when he worked at Trinity.

That´s easy to explain. The real Checkpoint motors were made by Big Jim Greenemeyer who was coming from slotcar racing as some other guys like Erni Provetti in the early days of RC racing. He sold the name later to the guys who are making the newer...

Hi, I just bought a vintage Reedy Ultra Mr K's motor, this one:

I would like to buy a stash of spare brushes for it. Could you please let me know what type I am looking for.
I have no idea whether it is laydown, stand up, etc. I searched Ebay...

I wonder if anyone can help? I have been looking for those tiny ring terminals to crimp onto the end of some brushes. Rather like you may find on Reedy or Trinity old school brushes. Ideally copper, but anything considered. The usual searches throw...

I came across a nice group of brushed motors from a dirt oval racer and there was a CAM super stock motor with some uniquely cut brushes. The sides were narrowed to allow the face to offset for more timing advance. I think it's really cool! I guess...

There was lots of brush cutting going on back in the day. Several companies sold precut brushes and brush cutting machines were also a thing so you could cut your own. Everything from slotted brushes for more cooling to holes drilled up the center...

They should just be standard slot car springs. Group 12 and up.
