My Priceless Vintage Posters
Just wanted to share some pics of my "priceless" posters (at least in my mind) that I dug out of storage today. The will be going into frames and hung up in my MAN room. Enjoy!

Re: My Priceless Vintage Posters
I just found and read online that 1977 was the first World Championship. I am not sure if the pictured race is from the WCs, but these just went up a couple notches in my book..... Priceless X3!
Anyone know if the WCs in 1977 was held in the states? The pic is obviously in the states, noting the writing on the wall.

Re: My Priceless Vintage Posters
http://www.ifmar.org/pdf/History.pdf
Although IFMAR had not yet been formed, and 1979 Is the first true worlds, this .pdf from the IFMAR site has a LOT of information and notation of what was going on in 1977. I hope this helps with the timeline of the photograph.
The 1977 race was at
"Thorpe Raceway" AKA(Later) The Ranch Pit Shop, Pomona, CA
(my hometown)
That building you see would later be the Ranch PS LHS and home of Losi for many years!

Re: My Priceless Vintage Posters
One of the guys I work with (Curtis Husting) wrote this whey I showed them the pictures of the posters.
My car is in the first poster. Second to last row (only 2 cars in the last row), left side, the first car is blocked out with the 7.sV box. Mine is the blue one right next to it.
I am in the second poster as well. I’m on the starting line first guy on the left behind the red and white car (my Dads car) white hat light blue shirt. (I was 17yrs.)
That was from the first ever IFMAR World Championships. It was at Thorps Raceway in Pomona. Losi bought the track and opened up their factory there. Butch Krolls (now at Yokomo) won the race. His is the yellow car jumping out to the lead.
I just thought you might like a bit of info on them from some one that was there!

I have been here at Team Associated for 10 years, I am the senior customer support person, I have raced Associated cars for 25+ years...Love my job, can't wait to get up in the morning to get to all my RC stuff....I am working on a bit of a museum here. I have just about 1 of every car that was made and a couple that were just done and never released.

Are you working on a museum at Associated or personal? I talked to Tracy last year about that when we stopped by. It would be great to see all the cars and products Associated made. It would be a proud display!
