Sprintcar information please

Post by tizeye »

Can anybody tell me anything about this sprintcar body set. The seller said that it was a direct fit for an RC10...the decal says Parma but does anybody know anything else about it?...like how it fits and what else I'd need to have to mount it....

Hmm... Not sure what the body is from, thought the tail maybe from a kyosho sideways but it's not. Maybe an early bbt conversion? either way, definitely not a direct fit for a stock rc10 but probably a conversion kit.

Yeah that's what i thought I can't see how this would fit. the guy I bought it off of says he ran it on his RC10..just put it on he said. Quess I will find out when it arrives..

Here's his answer..bit confusing he says it should fit then that it does..oh well we will see I guess: Hi, It should fit okay as I had this on my 80's RC10 radio control car. The bonnet tapers in width from 95mm at the rear to about 80mm at the front. It will fit on the chassis as opposed to fitting over it. Hope this helps. Thanks. 4:24

To me it looks to be a verry hacked up bolink sprinter the #1 nance nody. As far as it fitting the only way that I can see that it would fit is that only the nose bolts up no where else on the body unless you use velcro on the side. The front of the tank for the rear, is about the only thing I can think back there. Then possibly stock rc10 wing brackets to hold the upper wing on. Beyond that I havent the foggyest of ideals.

Sounds like it was a mod job...maybe where he had the pan exposed if it was a pan. Might've been on a graphite chassis or an aftermarket rc10 sprint car chassis. Seeing it might answer all your questions from the get'go.

Could it be from a BigBoys Toys conversion?

Well it arrived and as you can see there is no way that it will fit straight onto the RC10 chassis..it's too narrow..could be the right length cause the holes line up..the tail fit's over the rear end but only if you take the gear cover off..so it may well be for an RC10 but you'd need a narrow chassis like Big Boys Toys etc..

I believe Mr Casual has it right. That body is for an Ascot Sprint Car or Big Boys Toys Sprinter, there was never a chance it would fit an RC10 tub. There is an AE sprint car body but it has the side rails molded into the body so that it covers the sides of the tub.

I thought that on the Big Boys Toys car the tail fit under the roll cage..would this?..it would end up being a very big car if the cage went around this body..I was told that this picture was of a Big Boys Toys sprintcar that's why I bought it..

It's no problem. Like I said I am not knoledgable enough to say the the two pieces will work. However I'm certain that anything will work with anything with the right tools!!

That body might have started out as the Associated sprint car body judging by the tail section. The chassis on eBay would have to be cut to be used on a Big boys Toys conversion. You could make your chassis with just a sheet of fiberglass or graphite because the BBT does'nt use the kick up in front. Check out this this thread it will show you better what a BBT should look like. In fact just search in rc10 forum and you'll find many examples.
