Re: Making a carbon fiber chassis the novice way
I took my time with the tape making sure it laid down flat, and that each layer overlapped the last but the inside wasn’t bad at all. You’ll get a little transfer on your edges but nothing bad as long as you get the tape to lay flat. I’m told aluminum foil will work also but I wasn’t brave enough to...

Local Southern California Find
Howdy, I bought another car from the original owner. He was only about 25 miles from me. It’s got quite a few scratches on the original chassis and the one it’s currently fitted with. From what I was able to look up, it looks like maybe a Trinity chassis. The car came with the original box, a bunch ...

RC10T3 New To Me
Howdy, I picked this T3 up a couple months ago. I bought it from the original owner from Arizona. D727634D-B94E-4ED2-8680-8C76353B5341.jpeg It was on Craigslist for awhile, so maybe I paid a little too much. I’m still happy with it. The owner was a very nice guy. Anyway here is the truck. It was run...

RC10 PE ("Plastic Edition")

Re: RC10T2 Basher
And that is why I use wheel nuts that have serrated faces and nylon locks whenever possible.
Traxxas axles come with dry thread locker on them. I don't remember what its called.

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued
With my set, I also threw in sets of diff balls and tie bolt thrust balls from McMaster Carr along with the rings. I was struggling with getting the diff smooth and flipped over the McM rings once. Now butter smooth. Maybe they have one side smoother than the other? I haven't run my 10T yet so no co...

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued
For mine I used old diff balls and thrust bearings because they had not had much use. My diff is nice and smooth with the McMastercarr rings. Due to the weather and the fact I still need new bellcranks I have not ran mine yet but I don't believe there will be any problems.

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued
I went ahead and ordered a set of the McMaster Carr rings listed earlier (https://www.mcmaster.com/90482A432/) and they seem to measure the same +-.002" in all dimensions except for the thickness. The McMaster Carr rings measure .005" smaller. I did have to sand a few manufacturing groves ...

Re: Thinking of vintage racing my RC10
Yeah, Jeff has a few options for different length shocks. I'd recommend soaking all the nylon parts for several days to rehydrate them. Warm (not boiling!) water is best. I like the mini crock pots for this. If your car has the Stealth transmission, I'd probably run the diff a little tight. Gears an...

Re: Solution to reduce play in the dogbone cup of my RC10B4? Can you help?
So if you're the earlier B4, that should be 7667 and 7668 replacement outdrives. If you're the later B4 with the metric outdrive bearings, it should be the 9852 outdrive set... if you change your mind and are willing to get replacement parts.

Re: The unbuilding and boxing of an rc10t2
I'd put the inserts into the tires to save room. Maybe even slip the tires and wheels together.
