Re: RC10 WC Stealth diff got loose
too many little things it could be to pinpoint exactly without looking at it. Off the cuff I'd say the primary failure would be the lock T nut or perhaps some dirt in the thrust causing friction enough to unwind the bolt. if the dog bone is fairly loose in the drives, I doubt it would be that unless...

Re: How reliable are vintage ESC
anything rated for 6-10 cells and modified motors should be pretty much fine running a reasonable brushed motor (13 turn at the lowest?). Lipo or Nimh, but you just need to realize that these older esc's were not rated to run for more than 6-8 minutes, so heat is the dominant killer, running longer ...

Re: Repair Futaba MC 210CB ESC
the good news is that something happens. That probably means it's fixable. As to what's wrong, you would have to run some tests and be a little knowledgeable regarding the operation of the esc and electronics. It's not super easy, but it can be done. The very first test is a visual and odor test. ye...

Re: re Release power
yeah, as far as capacity, you could have a 10000mAh battery and it would be no problem. Just need to watch motor and esc temps. run them and let them cool. the only difference between the 10000mAh battery and a 2000mAh battery for a given car is one has to be recharged 5 times more as the other. i w...

Re: Newbie with Race Motor and AE RC10
that's an associated style connector, made by molex. You won't find any batteries today with that style connector on it. going to lipo should be no problem, however you need to look for a couple things: first, that esc is a novak 4, which predates the novak t4, which had tempfets, which gave some pr...

Re: Another 93 works
copper oxodizes pretty quickly. If you want to keep the shiny surface it's best to clear coat. polishing the springs would be tough, and the plating is probably super thin. You might be better off re-plating to get the finish back, although I think it still needs to be polished.

Re: Outdrives shot?
you can, especially if the rings have been badly damaged and you have 'barked' the diff. They are supposed to be tough though. no, i meant sneak up on the diff adjustment when you build it. the manual says to tighten the diff till the spring binds, then loosen 1/8th turn. I like to bring the bolt up...

Re: Another 93 works
caswell though pricey has a pretty good handle on all things plating etching and anodizing. Their copper plating kit uses a 'flash copper' solution, which you would have to find the msds for, but looking at the picture, it looks like blue liquid, which would be probably aqueous copper sulfate. That'...

Re: Outdrives shot?
8.5 is probably close to the limit to reliably run that trans anyway with good traction. you should always change the thrust parts, balls and washers. they are the weak point of the design, as they handle all the loading the diff balls do but in a much higher concentration since they are smaller, th...
