Restored TQ10
Pick up this car a few months ago. Filled some holes in chassis and made my own servo mounts. Went the 2.2 tire route using the parts listed in the tech section. Picked up the new sidewinder body here on this site. I couldn't decide on a paint job so I painted it like one I saw on the time tunnel site.

Re: Restored TQ10
The body is part # 6161. I am just the opposite this is my least favorite body for the RC10 but thats what the TQ10 came with. I like the pro body the best.

Don't take offense to this because it does look really good, but I think it would look much better if it were dropped down a bunch. It looks like it could sit about a 1/2 inch lower if it were cut out more. It looks kinda bulky the way it is now and I think thats why people don't really like them.
Great looking TQ! I hope to own one someday myself!

I second that! But I have to admit your paint and decals really make it pop. Real nicely done buggy you've got thererctenracer wrote: this is my least favorite body for the RC10

no offense taken but you really can't cut it down any more as it is now the rear of the body is on the rear shock tower. I do have another TQ10 with the pro body on it and it looks better that the sidewinder .There is a pic on this site of that car. look at jammin TQ10.

Re: Restored TQ10
Thanks for the comment on the paint . I am not the best body painter but I saw this paint job on the time tunnel site and it looked like a easy one to do. I just started trying to use liqiuld mask but thats becoming a sad story .

Re: Restored TQ10
After re-reading my post I realized I wasn't clear about the area to be trimmed. The rear shock tower area is what I was talking about. I had that body bitd and I had it trimmed almost flush with the top of that little kick up which made the body sit lower. If its going to be a runner (Im not sure if this one is or not?) you might need to fab a body mount to the top of the roof to stiffen it up a bit. I mad a simple bracket off the shock tower. If its a shelfer you shouldn't need to do this.

Re: Restored TQ10
Very good looking car. I've wanted to get a TQ10 built up for a bunch of years. I finally got one with the original box and manual off the bay a little while back. Just need some time to clean it up. I remember when they first came out, i almost bought one but bought a jrx2 instead.

Wow, that pops and I really do hate the sidewinder body but this looks great. Good job!
