This is great, now if they would have taught this stuff in school history I might have listened.I wonder once all of us are gone if anyone will be interested in this stuff and if people will continue to collect cars of this era?

Here is a bit of trivial for you guys...see the guy that came in second in that stock race (fifth in Mod)? Repete Fusco....he also won the 1987 1/8 onroad World Titles driving an RC500 beating the likes of Tony Neisinger (3rd), Gil Losi (4th), Curtis Husting (5th) Ralph Burch jr (7th) Ron Rossetti (9th)
If you are wondering about the name...yes his dad's name was Pete.

I'm not sure, but I think it is either one of the Associated Japan team drivers' car or something the magazine built.
The body is one of my practice bodies from that race.

Battery charging method used by Team Associated was quite awesome
. Hopefully every cell stayed at one piece and no damages happened.

Thanks Mr. Clausen. I don't think there's many rc forums where former WC are kind enough to share info on their cars like you do

I'm not sure where the writer got that method! I used unmatched Sanyo 1200mah sticks that were charged at 4 amps until hot. Prior to the race I went to the AE factory on Edinger Ave and weighed a bunch of 3 cell sticks on a digital scale to find the heaviest ones. Not high tech but it workedJirka wrote:Battery charging method used by Team Associated was quite awesome. Hopefully every cell stayed at one piece and no damages happened.
