I built this rc 10 out of stuff I had lying around and tried to keep it old school with some performance upgrades since it isn't a shelf queen I wanted it dependable. About the only modern upgrade is the rpm rod end cups since they hold way better than the stock hard plastic associated ones .IMO It also has andy arms in the rear.
I also always like the look of scale looking tires so I had some bfg mud terrian look alikes that I narrowed the fronts and used that center peice to widen the rear. They look good and work will too. It does have a stealth trans and I found some beefy dogbones in my misc box that work well. It has a 19 turn (I'm in the middle of rebuilding the stock associated motor) motor and a novak m5410 (I think thats the #) . I control it by a airtronics xl2p since I raced in 84' I had that same controller for my rc10 then it brings me back. I love these cars and like I say I had one new when they came out and always wanted one like the one I raced and this is close. Hope you like it.
Don't take what I said the wrong way. There is just alot of misinformation about these cars. If you stick around you'll learn so much your head will spin!
I see you are from WI. Maybe we can get together sometime and show off collections.
BTW, Reg is a great guy. He's kinda the "worlds" king around here. He doesn't bite...........................................................................hard!

Get it right, Reg is not a "Worlds King", he is a Worlds Whore, Pimp and Superhero!
Sound great thats why I'm here to learn. Isn't a world car the one with the machine marks in the bottom of them? Fastfang email me and we'll see if we can get together sometime. I love to talk rc's almost as much as driving and building. email [email protected] . I use to know all there was to know about them when I was 13 and they just came out. I had a rc 10 first edition to replace my tricked out blackfoot and then I got a yokomo (dogfighter I believe isa what it was called). I guess I'm dating myself.

Yeah thats the one - the Worlds car was the last of the aluminum tubbed RC10s - released in 93 I believe.
Ha ha your post does 'date' you....... to be about the same age as the rest of us ........ '30 somethings' re-living our lost youth.
Nice RC10 you have there... I bet its great fun to drive? I'm really looking forward to running one that i'm re-building, despite being in the hobby since the late 80s - I've never before driven an ali tubbed RC10, I can't wait!
built this a bit ago , but its been sitting on a shelf with no electronics
been afraid to run it because of the cost of all the nip andys parts I put into it
yesterday I said what the hell ,added some electronics and let her rip
glad I did

When I got my RC10 it was the base model. Now that I have a bit more money to spend and parts are a lot cheaper (and better) I thought about chaining things up a bit. What are the most effective upgrades I can do? I won't be racing, just having fun...

I upgraded my brushed motor for an EZRUN 13T / 35AMP ESC off ebay and it made an amazing difference!! these are available through Hobbyking i believe but i got mine from HK for a steal although it took 6 weeks to get to me.
This is my first post and im asking questions that have probably been asked a million times. My apologies, im usually pretty good at finding my answers searching, but i cant seem to get it straight on a few things.
Heres the deal, i bought a...

In the photo second from the bottom, it looks like your front shocks are leaning back quite a bit which suggest a loose or bent plate. However, it could just be distortion in the photo. Anyway, you'll know when you install the new tubes; they will...
Hi all,
I have been out of RC since oh the late 1980s and just received a rc10 classic as a gift. I never had one back in the day (got a clodbuster for xmas instead) but I always wanted one. I know nothing of current RC requirement so was hoping...

98 SVT? I used to have a silver 1998 Contour SVT, would be a small world if you had one.
Follow the advice of these guys. I was in a similar boat when I rediscovered RC a few years back and wasted time dealing with am radios and interference,...
Getting tempted to get a RC10 stealth in my fleet to go alongside the Schumacher Cougars, before I take the plunge and get a car just wondered where you guys buy your parts from??
I'm in the UK so would need worldwide shipping.
Had a quick look on...

Thanks for the links guys, one question does the A and L steering kit some with the carbon drag link as per photos for the $44??
Hello all,
Has there been a thread on the best upgrades?
I'm curious as to what upgrades people put on their cars/trucks that they felt were just awesome for racing, bashing or both.
What wasn't worth it? What upgrades just didn't work like you'd...

For the pretty much non racer I can't add to the list but to emphasize R/C tools. I upgraded as I could. AE tools pretty much fill my order but have been told that I'd never turn back away from an MIP once I used it.
I've had my 18R for a few years now. After installing a mamba 8000k brushless, the car is so fast it's almost undrivable. The stock chassis and suspension is super flexy. So after winning a set of aluminum arms for $5 I figured I might as well do it...

Those titanium diff drives look sweet. I'm pretty sure the wheels in those links are really only for the 18T. the issue is that the wheels for the 18T are way wider than those for the 18R
