Found this video on youtube by accident today, has some guy running his vintage RC10 buggy and body paint around a carpet off-road race track.
Nice job! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQOd1bVCaIg
Awesome stuff, but some times I think carpet "off-road" is not real off-road. I may get some heat from this comment but even the blue groove track doesn’t feel to me like real off-road. I am guessing they started this when indoor track started to evolve. It is not a bad idea but I may call it something different.
Oh, I see that the vid of my bud Christian made it overseas. We´re glad you like it.
Driving my RC10 on our carpet track was a lot of fun to me. Although the old tires didnt have much traction. The steering is pretty worn also, as you can tell by the maneuvers I made
I just set up another gold pan RC10 just for carpet racing. But thats a another story. I´m gonna open up a thread on the how to use newschool parts in an oldschool car in a minute.
Carpet racing 's been around for a long time for off-road. It's a great aid to simplify track maintenance especially when the track is not liased to a shop and depends on volunteers. Check out his vid of a race I participated at in 2009. No way you could survive a single heat with a lowered car on this track.

I bought this on the 'bay as a beat up but complete and operable buggy. Took it all apart for a rebuild/refurb (not quite proud enough to call it a full resto). My plan was to make a good fun runner. Upgraded to a Futaba 4PLS radio, 4370kv...

those tires are supposed to fit the original jelly bean wheels or the jconcepts hazards. they are smaller in diameter than the 2.1/2.0 wheels you actually have. They are intended to be used with inserts and glue because they are soft. I'm not sure...
I'm new here, so yeah. Just putting that out there. But anyway, my goal is simple. I am about to purchase an X Y table for my drillpress so I will essentially have a 3 axis Milling machine to machine my own plastic, aluminum and carbon fiber parts....

I think that's an intesting project... that will end up in something that is anything but the very best Vintage RC10 buggy possible , simply because you've had the best of the best refining that platform for 10yrs to make it what it became in the...
Back in the 80s/90s I had a Tamiya Frog and a friend of mine had splurged on the RC-10. Years later when he was cleaning out his garage he asked me if I wanted his RC-10 instead of tossing it out or selling it, and I said sure, why not....

Chassis looks in similar condition to a couple I converted to 2.4 GHz. Cheap ESC and flysky tx/Rx. ESC unbranded china about £8;. Flysky £25.; Battery approx £15. All ran original brushed motors. Steering servo plugs can be filed to fit Rx but a...
Hi all, after talking to some local racers I was told about a track from the early eighties, thought Id organise some freinds and go check it out and to my suprise its vintage heaven,no big jumps to break things and beuatifull suroundings,we took the...
Ok so this car is not entirely stock or standard but oh how this thing drives! I am just blow away at how smooth and quick this car is out on the track. Yes my driving is not great but even in poor hands these cars drive really well.
I met up with...

Hi mate was great meeting you in Perth and thanks so much for the wire....I owe you one!
I’ve had an original RC10 Gold Pan for 32 years. I raced with it and ran it in the street. Back in the 90’s I loaned it to my best friend who had recently sustained a traumatic brain injury. I figured he was the one who got me into RC and he needed...

That was a great first post. Welcome to the forum and the fun. 8)
New to the forum and last weekend I purchased a battery for my Goldpan RC10 I bought around 1987 or so. It ran like a champ till we bumped into something and broke the steering block. (Parts on order....ebay...) While not super clean it is a...

ordered directly from them. Their website is a bit wierd. When you select them, it is actually for all 4 wheels. I had e-mailed and asked them about the front vs back and they sent a prompt reply. It did take a couple of weeks to get here so you...

With the Re-re now well behind us and the 40th anniversary of the rc10 coming up soon I am trying to get my rc10 running. I have the the B stamp black chassis stealth car that came out before the Team car.

Not sure about the wheels unless he bought the car used and someone just used the 3 piece instead of one piece.
I bought it new. It came with 2.0 sized 3 piece wheels. I still have the wheels, no tires though.
