That is the best! Did your concrete track require a build permit? It would here where I live.
My ol'lady would shoot me! Does your wife have a sister?

Well Everyone,

I've been negligent in putting up update over the past few years on my progress on my RC track. I poured 3 slabs back in 2010, then another 12 slabs of concrete the summer of 2011, and this summer I will pour 9 more. If I'm lucky, I'll finish laying all the concrete next summer. Below are some pics of the track as it stands just prior to this years additional 9 slabs.

That will be an interesting one for the realtor to explain if you ever sell the place...

Looks good! I'm working on a small track myself. No pavement, though.

I would like to show you guys my progress over the last month. I finished the S's and the hairpin. This section was a 60 foot stretch, that went up hill over 11.5 inches. It was my first time pouring concrete on an incline, and I am very happy with the results. The transitions from flat to incline to flat are pretty darn smooth. Please tell me what you guys think.

I worked for a concrete/ paving contractor for a summer. You should have some qp stone between the concrete and the dirt, if not the dirt should be well tamped. I don't know what your budget is but that first slab is thick, overkill , you should be fine with half of that thickness. I didn't look too closely at the finish how smooth did it come out? Did you consider texturing the finish to create a slight strip on the edge, rumble strip?
