Paint idea's needed

Post by Bikerbob »

Hey guys, I have my body for my Jrx2 now.

I need some 80's style paint job ideas on how to do this thing up.

I dont want modern splash or 35 colour things.. I want something basic and fun!!

Any pics anyone has of something they think would look cool on a nice retro Jrx2 runner.. show me please!

James

why not a box-art? It's simple, great looking and it adds some more value to the body

Take inspiration from Andy Jacobsen's paint jobs on the Andy's bodies. 3-4 colors, solid stripes with a light darker fade on the edges. Super clean, and very time and period correct.

JMHO, box art paint jobs almost always suck. I can think of only a few instances of good paint jobs on box cars. ;) With the exception of the original RC10, I can't think of too many I would try to replicate intentionally. The first JRXT does come to mind as an interesting project, but that paint job was a Toyota Ivan Stewart design adapted to the Losi truck body. :)

The Jrx2's box art paint job was one of the all time worst in my opinion. It might add some value, if you have the complete decal sheet to go wtih it, but I thing it's pug fugly.
