once you use a good bead blaster, you won't look back.....

that cheap one seems to fit the bill nicely for this type of application, and the price is right if it works.

I use a cheap harbor freight cabinet and bought 50lbs of glass bead, and only use it only stuff that is relatively clean, so it lasts a long time. ie, no heavy grease and rust. descale and degrease the best you can, then use the glassbeader.

for that small of a bead blasting rig, I think I'd find a decent sized carboard box, and use it as a backstop to reclaim some of the beads....a makeshift cabinet for cheap, if you will. even something like a rubbermaid container, but just make sure to wear eye protection.

Awesome, I never thought of the cardboard box idea. I was a little confused about how to re-claim some of the beads but I guess you just scoop them up after each job and throw them back into the bucket.

Thanks again for the tips everyone.

I wonder if a vibratory tumbler would be gentler on the parts. I don't know if you can use sand in them though. Usually its walnut shells or corn cob media.

3M scotchbrite on a dremel polishes it up nicely for me with almost no material loss :D
