Re: AYK Super Trail
Ok boys! Here it is....I was working on this most of the day yesterday. Was getting over my stomach problem anyways so may as well build something.
So I received my chassis rails from Germany and all went together well. I'm really glad that it is finished and looks pretty sweet for how old it is. It’s as good as I can get it for what is available out there; no parts or nothing for these things that I can find....

Re: AYK Super Trail
I love how realistic it looks without tower-high shocks sticking out and wheels in proportion to the body

Nice work SFC K!
I'm also rebuilding my Super Trail but I'd like to come up wih a better option for shocks... They are pretty small though. Anybody found replacement for those?

You could try and find some vintage Kyosho shocks. I have an Assault and they seem to be pretty close in size...Sorry though, mine are not for sale, yet. I can get measurments and send them to you later if you want.
You have any pictures of your Super trail? Would love to see them.

I guess I don't know of any options. Pretty new to the whole AYK scene.AYKBOBCAT wrote:Well I have plenty of supertrail shocks... It's just that I'd like another option. I'd like to drive this one...

Re: AYK Super Trail
maybe the red YR-4II shocks, or clinehobbies replacements for kyosho red shocks, 1/16 buggy shocks...
You'll have to figure out the dimensions and travel you need, aswell as the connection points. Check out displayed cars in the hobby shops around you, take the car with you and see if anyone comes up with a good idea. And take it along when you race another one. you never know what other racers have run in the past

Re: AYK Super Trail
thanks Mr Ed... The problem is that I'm about 3h drive from the closest hobby shop so I do all my shopping on the internet. I'm not a racer either. This is the beauty of this forum, it helps a lot to read about what other have done rather than gessing and ordering parts that may or may not fit. I'm not rushed though.... I'll figure out better shocks that fit my SuperTrail at some point.

Re: AYK Super Trail
I will try the Kyosho red front shocks this weekend and let you know what I think. I don't plan on running mine so won't be able to tell you how they perform though; at least whether or not they will fit.AYKBOBCAT wrote:thanks Mr Ed... The Stock ones don't seem like they have much travel to them at all. Even with them off the suspension seems limited.
