Tire Preservation?

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

How long does it take tires(foam and rubber)to start deteriorating and how do you prevent it? I know storage conditions such as keeping them elevated and climate controlled, but what else? I'm more concerned for my foam tire shelfers than the rubber, but wonder about both. Suggestions/Tips?

For foam rubber you need to keep some type of oilbased moisture in them such as WD-40 or mineral oil- otherwise they dry out and split

Sounds good. Any suggestions for rubbers? (Besides use one the next time you're in Amsterdam! )
