BIN LADEN DEAD, the world celebrates

Post by CATS »

Wanted to congratulate all of my friends in the US in this monumental day over the death off a very evil man!

Am in agreement, but we should all be on alert for the next few weeks. If the so called 'sleeper cells' really do exist, then we should expect them to go active and attempt revenge! :(

Yep, pretty symbolic IMO, the head has been cut off, but the evil body is still alive and on a global scale!

They should put the head on a stake and stick it on the White House lawn.

oh man....... :(

In the interests of keeping this board "refined" as it has been since it started - can I suggest we do what "Ron Burgandy" (Anchor Man) says..........

"Stay Classy"...................

The world has suffered enough, not just one or two countries - setting an example by being "understated" would be more mature....... It's ok to feel relief and pride - but not to go over the top.

I am not trying to be controversial at all. What has happend to the world over the last years is sad and unfortunate and very very wrong - however carrying on like "they" do only makes you as bad as them............

Sorry - just seen way to much pain and suffering in my work - and it is on both sides. The world is a messed up place - lets be better than all the "rednecks" (thats an Aussie term too guys) touting their guns and being tools. It angers and saddens us when we see them do it and read about it and how they react. Lets be better than that on here eh?

Cheers

I couldn't agree more, I was actually embarrassed to be from the US after watching college students dancing and partying over this, like it was a new drinking holiday-

Sadly that is what the world will see - a small minority of tools celebrating and chanting.........just justifies in the minds of "them" what they think of us and our society/religion...........Thankfully the majority on here are educated and will understand the ramifications of what has happened and know that it is not a time for celebration - but reflection and the securing/planning the future. Chanting like a bunch of clowns "USA USA - yeah we got him", whilst patriotic (and rightfully so) - doesn’t change the fact that majority of the world will view it as pathetic behaviour.

Thankfully the "Majority" of people on here realise that it NOT just the US that suffers and not just the US that has done what has been done today. Terrorism effects the world. This action today has been a collaborative effort that has taken over 12 years from numerous intelligence agencies, armies, Special Forces and allot of collaboration from foreign forces............he was just the "tip of the iceberg", now he is a "Martyr".........................................

Again - I don’t want to be seen to be antagonistic, just want this place to remain "classy" and not just another "redneck wonderland" (midnight oils reference there guys).

Cheers

Darryn

I just saw some clips of the partying kids on CNN. Seriously don't understand why they are partying. I instantly thought of the Germans celebrating when the wall came down. Now there was a reason for college kids to party...in Germany. I'm military and have been for over 10 years now. I just don't see the need to party. He was a figure head, the terrorists are still out there.

What? When did this happen? I gotta watch the news. College kids dancing? I dont think they're even old enough to really remember 9/11. And it's not like his name has been brought up much since in the last 10 years.

They are cheering because of the need for closure.
They are cheering for the people who lost their lives in 9/11.
They are cheering for our country finally doing what needed to be done.
They are cheering for standing up to a bully.
They are cheering for not giving in to fear.

They are cheering because we can be proud to be Americans this morning.

Bin Laden lived to destroy the way of life of the Western civilized world. He wanted ALL of us dead. He hated everything every single one of us stands for. This view has FINALLY been rejected buy the United States, and there is one less evil person in the world today.

THAT is why they are cheering in the towns across the country, singing the National Anthem and wearing our flag with pride in the streets of this country. Don't ever question anyone's patriotism for their own country.

NO ONE questioned anyones patriotism.

Please don't twist my words to make an arguement for for something that I - or anyone else were not making. I am not sure if that is what you are suggestng or not, again - no arguements being looked for - or wanted. :)

Cheers
