not sure you realize what's happening here. The original Cat is a 1986 piece of history and most of rc enthusiasts can only dream of having one in their collection... bolting big modern wheels and BL and stuff to this is just pure heresy. Cecil and Masami would slit your throat for that!!!

it's like putting NOS and 18" wheels with cheap chinese tires to a Ferrari 250GTO SWB....

in a word - don't. Sell this baby for a chunky amount of cash, get a modern car to good around with, which won't break behind underdimensioned, 25 y.o. dry plastics, and for which you won't have any issues finding cheap spares, and this'll be a win-win for everyone :)

 Very nice explanation ! Thanks for the support ! I took me over three years to complete my SWB . This picture with the crawler tires will be forever burned into my brain

Sorry, I did not realize that. I was looking to make this fit my needs. I was planning on putting a 45t motor in it and a 2 cell lipo to slow it down a bit. I bought these proline scale tires because I was planning on driving this thing mostly inside and crawling outside. But I don't want to butcher this thing so I just might end up selling it.

there you go. The good news is, this is the right place to do so, you'll find plenty of enthusiasts on rc10talk willing to buy this off of you :)

I'm going to rebuild it now, just to clean it up and take some pics.

Ok, so this helps because I could not figure out how those metal arms connected. I wish I still had the docs and box for this. I will have to grab those out of storage next weekend. So from the looks of it for me to be out of the box stock I would need to buy a bumper and that plastic piece that is really rare that i broke. Ohh, I have the undertray wing and belt guard plastics in storage also but I already painted that body :(.

I'm afraid even with 2.5 megabit ADSL, those 1.5 MB images download slowly and make the page load very slow.

2560 x 1920 resolution should never be used on the internet; 1024 x 768, or even 800 x 600, is more than enough. Just sayin'. :)

Yeah, I used my phone to upload them and I forgot to re size them. I will re size them on my laptop in a bit. We're running on docsis 3 here so I forget about size sometimes.

I see my steering ball joints are upside down. Going to fix that.

You have the basis of a very cool restore and rebuild as it is pretty clean. The shocks are just standard 3mm silicone orings used in every other 1/10 car. The bumper is very rare but never give up on your search as they will pop up eventually. Body sets you can maybe still get from Mr Lexan on this site. Hope this helps :D
