Project Retro RC10 Paint Finished 07-05-11
Ok here is my Mutt project, Again lol.
My new paint job lol, I was looking for an older retro color scheme, i think it turned out pretty good.
DW911 Slotted Graphite Chassis
LOHAS 5 Spoke Alloy Wheels (I love the 5 spokes) (I moved the rear wheel spacer to the outside to make the rear a little wider)
Black litesink motor plate
RPM Gear Cover
Hot Trick Front Arms
Hot Trick Rear Arms
Hot Trick Front Shock Tower
Hot Trick Rear Shock Tower
Losi Alloy bearing bell-crank (I Think)
AE Viper Body
Buds Racing Large Rear Wing
ProLine Holeshot Rear Tires (I love the way the Holeshot tires are wide and flat, reminds me of the hole-shot 4 wheeler tires)
ProLine Ribbed Front Tires

That's a great looking rig and those pictures look good to me.

That is beautiful! Nice picture taking as well.
I have a question about the arms though. I noticed that the screws holding the hinge pins in front are on the bottom and in the rear they're on top. Is that by design?

That is awesome!!! Where do you get the Hot Trick stuff? What about the rear wing and wheels? How did you do the paint scheme? So many questions...

Re: Project Retro RC10 Paint Finished 07-05-11
Thanks,
It took me forever to decide on colors, I few people from another forum commented the shocks did not look good with all the red HT stuff, when i got the lohas wheels and added them i had to bring it all together.
I ended up using:
Pactra metallic Red
(Looks close to the HT parts, Its a kinda faded looking red)
Pactra metallic White (Backed with Tamiya white)
(The metallic white looks like antique white)
House of Kolor Tangerine candy (Backed with Tamiya white)
(The only color i had that would kinda bring the shocks and wheels together with the body, Its not a match in color by any means, but it kinda brings it all together)
The gold striping is actually vinyl, I had some leftover metallic gold vinyl left from a van project i did a few years ago.
You can find HT parts on eBay, They look cool but functionality has much to be desired lol, The Wing is also found on eBay, I have seen the small Bud's wing a lot but not the large one on my car, The Wheels are from RC Lohas, emerson_shih on the form and rc-lohas on eBay, He still sells the Hurricane wheels, the 5 spokes like on my car were a limited run of around 35 sets.
