Re: MMV Challenge: TC's WTF? mobile
So I have been waiting for a few things for the WTF build, so I have been working on the other chassis:

Re: MMV Challenge: TC's WTF? mobile
It has been an absolute whirwind of a month for me, and I have been unable to get any progress on any of my builds. I retired from the Coast Guard, and my ceremony is next week. A ton of planning has had to go into that. I gave my notice at my regular job today because I got "an offer I couldn't refuse" elsewhere. Also, we have been camping out of control this summer. I'll try and get updates up as soon as I get things accomplished.....

Re: MMV Challenge: TC's WTF? mobile
Finally got my chassis back. Not only that, but the front bulkheads are done. New Era ran two copies, and are going to complete another 4 for me.
Pictures hopefully tonight. Looks like I am WAY behind the eightball on this competition.....

me likey that bulkhead . Maybe Walt could take a crack at one of those when his demand for stealth cases slows down.

yeah, the bulkhead came out the nuts. Once he is done with the black delrin, I'm going to do a run of white. The design is pretty close to the RC10 GT front bulkheads they make.

I haven't actually posted pictures of the mmv yet, those pictures were from another project. I'm all over the road...Coelacanth wrote:That's coming along nicely, TC! It's gonna be a pretty one, for sure.

Bahahahahaha....
Got the front end on, and it looks great. Rear end coming along just ok. Need to refab/re engineer a couple of things, but other than that, coming right along.

Don't be scared, just suck like I do...Toasted Coastie wrote:My biggest fear is painting....
Get this blue tape and it will change your life! You can probably find it locally cheap too so you don't have to wait. If you go slow, get a good seal and wait 'til a day when you have lots of time you can tape out a simple, but great looking retro design and then just spray light even coats. Rattle cans work fine. Tamiya is smoother than Pactra IMO, but either is fine. The tape comes in plenty of different widths. Makes great, tight no leak pinstripes and edges. Use a thin one to make your edges and then just fill in with masking tape. You can't do the fancy shading like with an airbrush, but it still gives you a great clean look and the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

scr8p and Eau Rouge turned me on to it so you know it's good.
Also, lexan scissors are worth every penny! Use a good pair of straight scissors for long straight lines though.
