Optima diff grease = white lithium grease?
I picked up a toothpaste-tube of white lithium grease and was wondering if it's similar to what's used inside the stock Optima/Javelin differentials...it's the same peanut-buttery color and has a very similar viscosity...does anyone here know for sure if white lithium grease is good stuff to pack the Optima diffs, or can suggest what they use that's best? Thanks!

Re: Optima diff grease = white lithium grease?
Hi.
Just built a nib Great Vigor Beagle (Optima clone). After 25ish years in the box the diff grease had gone off. As the diffs are pre built there was no info on grease in the manual, or optima manual. Had a look around and found this http://www.retromodelisme.com/scan_pages/8320/ultima-2wd-kyosho-page-4.html . Original Ultima had same diffs as Optima (minus chain drive side) but not pre built. Silicone grease is used. Also check back of bevel gears is smooth, mine had marks from moulding process which would have worn diff housing. I sanded them smooth with 800 grit paper on a mirror... Great Vigor quality though not Kyosho! Hope this isn't too late j

Re: Optima diff grease = white lithium grease?
I've never tried it in an Optima before but I've always had good results using Gorilla Snawt.
Edit: Wait, never mind as I just went and looked and it appears the seller stopped shipping it... Around 30 negatives ago.
