I guess you right about that…
But I was thinking about on one of my project that stuck for the anodize was toe expensive in Sweden, around $200… at least those I found nearby.
Sometimes you get some parts wrong…
When I stated that Bob Rodine’s Runner (Jack in the Box) was the buggy that have stand model for Kyosho designer Akira Kogawa when he designed the COX Scorpion. But that’s not true; it was another of Bob’s buggy’s that stood model for Akira Kogawa when I deigned the COX Scorpion.
It’s a short course buggy from UMP that Bob drove in -81. And when you look upon the picture you can clearly see that’s the right buggy!
So my “Blueprint Scorpion” is just a model of Bob Rodine’s Runner (Jack in the Box).

It’s almost a year sins I finish this built except for the missing sticker! And ever sins I have tried to find someone to make me this sticker, Jack in the Box, Rodine and Chenowth.
Finely I got the best help ever from fellow member “PBR Allstar”!!! This guy is a wizard, the only “originals” I had was tribal pictures. But it didn’t stop him from making spot-on sticker to my buggy.
And this is the picture proof of grate craftsmanship!
That looks awesome, I'd love to have the patience and skill to piece together a buggy in such great detail.
I don't know if he's still alive but I'd try and get hold of the guy to show him your replica, bet he'd be thrilled!
Bob is alive and kicking somewhere in southern California restoring his yellow sort cause UMP buggy back to what it was 31 years ago together with the custom built trailer. At least that is what I have heard from a well informed source.
Buuuhuuu i want to drive it Hmmm. thinking i "stick" to my CAR Radio that got steering wheel those others with a pole is for U boats. U rock anyway Sir.
Add me to the list of folks that missed this one entirely. Thanks to your gallery Lars. Simply awesome work! I live here in San Diego (the home of the very first Jack in the Box restaurants BTW) and will now keep an eye out for this buggy now! I read the race-dezert thread too. Really cool.
I'm thinking that with the extra grunt that I'm going to be putting through my Turbo Scorpion drivetrain, I should look at putting the old gears in a bag and finding replacements of the same pitch or maybe even replacing with a different...

Not at the moment mate. What did you want to know?
I received this Scorpion 3 weeks ago. Apart from tub being painted while mounted on the chassis, it was in a very nice mechanical condition.
Judging by the lach of scratches on the tub, it has not seen any dirt.
The spurgear gear was mounted in the...

Hey Guys, new to the forums. What a beautiful car! I am in the process of a Tomahawk restoration (God help me) and this forum always came up in my Google searches. Now I see why, there are some great looking restorations here! Sorry to resurrect an...
My newest Scorpion Project, which shows the attempt at widening the front and give it a bit more strength.
Thanks to gomachv for the rear shockmount :D

Thanks, Phin! I will have to do a bit of research and see the diff 380 motor specs. I want to use some of my vintage receivers and servo with the brushless ESC that I will buy with the 380. Going to go with the smaller servo that is used with 1/12...
Here is a chassis I have been working on, came to a standstill when I tried to mount my Parma shocks, the front shocks are too long.
Had a talk with Lars, seems I need to make taller shock mounts for the Parma's as he did with his Parma Scorpion....

RC front sway bar hey? Don't know that I've heard of this. I bastard iced an Optima rear sway bar for my Turbo Scorpion. I'll post photos in due course. I would be interested to find a bespoke front bar for the Scorpion series though.
I have to admit that i have lost myself in hop-ups for the COX/Kyosho Scorpion . This time it’s all about hop-ups from Parma. Parma didn’t manufacture that many parts just for the Scorpion; most of the parts fit many other cars to. The parts I have...

This thread still amazes me so much I just had to bump it up. I can imagine the many hours you've searched for those Parma parts :o
Some of you that have been around awhile might recognize this one. I have been looking for a Scorpion for quite some time but up to now I have not been able to find one that didn't need a complete restoration and/or was priced astronomically. I saw...

I've seen this on the forum before..., & on eBay a short time ago...
If it looks as good in person as the it did in the prior photos, I'd say you picked up a pretty sweet ride.
Very cool Scorpion, one of my all time favorites. :D
