Note that I do not install the nuts first, but install them upside down. This allows me to use a shorter screw to secure the steering and lowers the bellcranks to prevent the ball cups from hitting the camber link ballcups.
I've been confused on this point before. If you look at the manual for the World's car which uses a very Hogue-like bellcrank, then you will see that you are instructed to install the nylon sleeve nut over the top of the bell crank assembly just as you have done. So, why do people say this is doing it "upside down"? Maybe the original Hogue instructions said to put the sleeve nut in below the bell crank?

Correct, originally the Houge steering ( which was sold for many years before AE came out with one), was originally deigned/instructed so that the nut was located against the chassis. The problem with this is that it caused the steering assy to be elevated which induced more bump steer into the front end. By lowering it this eliminated much of the bump steer associated with these steering assemblies.

Although Jake does some amazing work, this thread was started by JEFF, not Jake.

As for the paint; this car was only built for this thread. I have no other plans for this car and it will probably never see use. It is an exact copy of my own race car, which already has paint.
Question, the wheels in this pic, are these by JC Concepts? I take it that unless I make the modifications you've done here and use the modern hubs / axles in the front and back that I wouldn't be able to run them on my gold pan?

I believe JC Concepts is the people on ebay that are making wheels that will fit on the rc10 without any new hubs. JConecpts makes the Rulux wheels made for the B4 that Jeff Harris is running. You'll need to update the rear hubs and front axles to run them.

First of all, absolutely awesome thread! Your thread is a major inspiration for my Team Car rebuild. I am curious, are these studs for standard (0.17") ball cups, or one of the enlarged varieties? I'm looking to replace my old studs, and having a hell of a time finding the sizes on Associated's various options.

Do you mean enlarged like the 5mm TC ones?

Mostly curious if they'll take a standard sized ball cup like RPM heavy duty for example... As opposed to enlarged like those TC ones you mention or some of the Lunsford's.

My builds all use standard AE, JC or RPM type ballcups. I don't think a 1/10 buggy needs anything more.
