Nothing but practice days in the near future for me LowC. I wish they'd have other practice days instead of Wednesday, but I digress...
I can source the RPM rear mounts, but only in 3 degree. Not sure if that will help or hurt with my setup? On the other hand, I have an aluminum HG rear set that could be used to, but I think the break would've been more violent. The pic with the mount broke above, also broke that rear shock shaft clean off just above the threads.

3 degree would be a better choice as long as you have 0 deg hubs

I broke one of those on one of my 10ts. I made another one out of some thick white plastic I had hanging around. I forget what its called. But it worked quite well while waiting for a replacement to come. I thought about making parts for the buggies and trucks that are getting scarce. I know there is one person at my local track that races a rc10 with a stealth trans. The car is older than him!

Yep, was a long Friday night... It seems like 20 years or so since IU had any glory days. Friday night was a good game, IU just couldn't stay out of foul trouble and Kentucky shot 35/37 from the stripe. I do look forward to next season for IU as they are a great young team with a superb coach. Crean is everything Knight had hoped to be.

After only one night at the track and a few times out in the street playing, I took apart the stealth trans to put the plastic diff and idler gear back in to see how it does. The diff rings were slightly grooved, but the thrust washers were really grooved. Diff was built right and tightened after breaking it in and still felt good right before I took it apart. Is the grooving normal even with light use? If not, too tight or too loose?

Grooving of the thrust washers is pretty damn uncommon- did you have the correct number of thrust balls and used the black grease? I also sand the thrust washers flat for smooth diff action-

Yep, all of the above. Sanded those too.

Wow, I've never seen thrust rings grooved like that.

Keep an eye on those diff rings. The ones in my RPM Stealth recently exploded with a mild 18T brushless motor...you could actually see that both rings cracked right at the grooves from the diff balls.

I don't know how you guys keep parts from spitting out the tranny case with these mod brushless motors.

Out of curiousity, I just pulled apart the trans again to take a look. 6 thrust balls. I might ad that I am using ceramic thrust and diff balls from Avid. Already a small groove in there only after breaking it in a bit. Kinda went with this procedure to try to ensure a well broken in diff:

i'd be willing to bet, had you used associated diff and thrust balls, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Will the standard balls like what is in the TC3 diff kit be fine?

i'm pretty sure they used the same diff balls (3/32).

fyi, associated also makes the factory team ceramic diff balls #6584, they work great in my b4.1

I've ran a worlds front-end back in the day, I believe it was made by RPM? Black A-arms.

What brand rear bulkhead is that that you've got on your car? I see it allows the ues of the RC-10T shocktower...what are the advantages of that over the stock shocktower? Longer travel with the rear arms?
