Dyeing white to red

Just got a RC10 with H/T chassis, want to dye the white parts. When dyeing from white to red do you guys soak over night? Or boil them? If boiling, how hot and for how long? Not sure if I'm askingin the right section, thank you.

You're definitely in the best section, because we don't have a "Dye Shop" section yet.

Buy some RIT dye, you can get it at Walmart. You basically pour it in a pot of water, bring to a boil, then drop in your nylon parts. It doesn't take long for the dye to set, so it's a good idea to use a test part first, dipping it in and out and recording the time it takes to get the depth of color you want.

I dyed some wheels from white to blue, and it didn't take more than a few minutes for the color to dye darker than I wanted.

Last warning: Don't use a pot that you (or especially your significant other) cooks with.

You will find you only need to have the part in the boiling dye for just a few minutes. How long depends on what color you want. You can go from pink to dark burgandy red depending on how long you leave the parts in. And like coel said don't use a good pot because no matter how good you clean it, your pasta is going to come out pink

If you have to do more then 1 batch of parts or more parts later on I time how long they are boiling for wsith a stop watch to achieve the same results all the time.
