Shock Rebuild

OK, one more question fo today....

Does somebody have a part number or a link to what I can use to rebuild my bottom load shocks? I guess if I could atleast put new orings in I would be happy for now. These are completely empty of oil right now.

1/8" silicone o-rings, available through regular hobby shops, or if you need alot of them, you can get them in bulk from mcmaster-carr for dirt cheap.

Mcmaster has the retaining rings too, an packs of like 50, but I don't have that off hand. Maybe someone else does.

I just re-use the rest of the stuff, with plenty of green slime.

And check the shafts. If you can see any lumpy imperfect wear on them, which is likely, you should buy new ones, and these are still readily available through all the usual channels (ebay/online hobbie shops/your better stocked lhs).

WOW, I had no idea that would work, I actually have a couple of those, I will give it a try

The traxxas parts worked good....

Any ideas where to get the nylon rings for the shock caps?

Hardware stores like ACE hardware in the states carry them as "nylon washers"

Joe, something in my memory is telling me that the bottom loading caps, or bodies aren't machined deep enough for the o ring's on cap side- I think-

I'll have to double check.. I know a couple manufacturers used to sell O-rings as upgrades, and I'm pretty sure I've had them on the bottom loads without issue.

I just checked with the Orings I use from mcmaster-carr. While there is slightly less threads on a bottom load shock, there is still plenty of engagement and the Oring worked just fine.
